Hey guys. I finally published a small game the past few days.
As those of you who have played it will know (if you haven’t, you don’t need to play it, it’s a waste of time), this is an undeniably shitty game. I spent about a month on it, and I produced crap.
But I don’t regret it too much, because the requirements I set when I started this project had been met. Those requirements were,
- Experiment graphically with HD resolution backgrounds and pixel art characters
- Finish the project in the shortest possible development time
- Publish on itch.io so that anyone can access, instead of burying a game in the hard drive as I have done so far, judging it to be shit piece.
- Make it all by myself.
At least, the initial goal of the development has been achieved.
I have a lot of pictures of the development in progress, so I’ll put them here as a development log.
Finally, color grading was applied to the main BG and a scarecrow was added to complete the title screen.
By the way, I stole the title “The Hollow Men” from a poem by T.S. Eliot. I was reading his poem when I was working on this game.
I’ll try to do better next time. See you soon.
