SSS #2 - Considering about genre, and some sketches

Hey guys. This is my second update.
I really wanted to do a weekly update, but I couldn’t do it last week. It seemed to me that there was nothing worth showing to everyone. A friend said to me, “You should update your development blog every week. And see if it’s better to look good or to be forgotten by everyone.

Maybe it’s worth it to write that development isn’t going well.

Right now I’m struggling with the player character design and the core gameplay. According to my own self-analysis, my strengths as a developer are graphics (pixel art) and creating a general atmosphere. If I wanted to make the most of this in gameplay, I would probably settle for Adventure/Puzzle/Point-and-click game genres. But there’s a big problem. They’re not all my favorite game genres! My favorite genre is RPG/Action/Simulation/Strategy. The narratives I think of, the graphics I draw, and the genres I like don’t seem to have much of an affinity. I’ve been struggling with this kind of thought process for a long time. Maybe I don’t have much talent for game dev.

Some of my trials and errors over the past two weeks are listed below.
